Queens' Sports Academy Spring Term 2026 Newsletter

Welcome to the Queens' Sports Academy Spring Term 2026 Newsletter
Boys Football Academy

The boys’ football academy at Queens’ School has really stepped it up over the last 6–8 weeks

You can see a big improvement in the way we’re playing – more confident on the ball, better movement, and working much more as a team. That’s shown in our results too, going unbeaten in our last two games  A strong 2–1 win vs Borehamwood and a 2–2 draw against USP College (a team we lost heavily to earlier in the season) shows how far the boys have come

A special shoutout to Chase Matthew  who earned a place at the ESFA National Trials. Not only did he attend, but he also scored with a brilliant header! We’re all incredibly proud of him .

We are thrilled to announce that Chase has now been selected to represent England in the English Schools Football Association Under 18 Schoolboys squad in the upcoming international fixture against Wales on May 23rd.

Massive progress is being made on and off the pitch, and the energy around the academy is really positive  We’re excited for the next games and already looking ahead to big plans for 2026/2027.

Boys Basketball Academy

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

Our U19s have had a remarkable season, capped off with an incredible overtime win away at Harris Academy Crystal Palace to close things out in style.

This group has shown resilience, character, and togetherness all year — and it’s paid off. We’ve secured promotion and will be competing in the league above next season

Finishing 2nd in the league and narrowly missing out on the top spot only adds fuel to the fire . Huge credit to every single player for their commitment and growth throughout the season.

We’re already looking ahead… next season can’t come soon enough.

Girls Football Academy

The Queens' School Girls Football Academy played West Herts College in what turned out to be a one sided affair. Queens dominated play and created many chances with Kodie Wells converting for the 1st goal just before half time when she picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box dribbled past two defenders and slotted in the bottom corner. Our 2nd goal came from a good ball into the box by Aleyna Jaswal that was turned into her own goal by a West Herts defender. The team saved the best goal for last as Jess Wright found herself in space in the center of the pitch and chipped the ball over the West Herts backline for Madison Card to run onto and finish superbly on the half volley into the top left corner, Queens' 3-0 West Herts.
