Queens' Sports Academy - December 2025 Newsletter

What have our 3 Academy teams been doing this half-term?
Boys Football Academy
The past few weeks have been both challenging and rewarding for our Boys Football Academy. The squad showed tremendous character in the AOC Men’s Trophy, securing a hard-fought 4–3 win after extra time against Dagenham & Redbridge College. Their resilience and teamwork shone throughout the match, earning them a well-deserved place in the next round, which will take place on 10th December in Hastings.
We also faced a tough fixture away to Shenfield High School, who currently sit at the top of the league. Despite the result not going our way, the boys delivered a strong performance and gained valuable lessons that will support their continued development.
Training has been a standout highlight this period, with the players showing relentless intensity, excellent commitment, and a clear improvement in overall quality. Their attitude both on and off the pitch continues to set a strong foundation for progress.
A special mention goes to Chase Matthew, who has successfully progressed to the next stage of the England Schoolboys trials. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to his dedication, consistency, and hard work. The whole academy is extremely proud of him.
Looking ahead, the academy is excited for the coming months — particularly with the ongoing construction of our new 11-a-side AstroTurf pitch, set to provide an outstanding facility for future training and fixtures.

Basketball Academy
The Queens' School Basketball Academy has made an impressive start to the season, standing at 4–1 with strong momentum. Key additions in Year 12, along with the support of our assistant coach, have strengthened the squad both on and off the court.
This term has featured hard-fought wins over Northampton School for Boys, NCC Epping, NCC Havering, and Sigma Sixth, showcasing our identity of defence, hustle, and teamwork. With three games remaining in the first half of the 25/26 season, the team is focused on maintaining high standards, continuing to improve, and finishing the year with purpose and pride.

Girls Football Academy
The girls academy continues to move forward. Whilst the season hasn't always gone to plan the girls remain resolute.
We would like to thank Jess, our Captain for her leadership so far this year. We are looking forward to what the new year brings us and welcome the warmer weather sometime soon!!!!!

Happy holidays from all the staff at the Queens' Sports Academy
