Netball and Football Tour to PGL Liddington
Students from Queens’ enjoyed an unforgettable residential trip to PGL Liddington, combining competitive sport with exciting outdoor adventures. The netball teams delivered an outstanding performance, with three out of four squads progressing to the semi-finals. Each team went on to secure an impressive third-place finish in their respective year group tournaments, highlighting the strength and consistency across the teams.
A particularly special moment came for the Year 11 netball squad, who were named Overall Team of the Tournament by the umpire, a perfect end to their Queens’ Netball career. The football teams also represented the school with pride, demonstrating excellent attitude, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout both training sessions and competitive matches. Their conduct and teamwork were a true credit to Queens’.
Beyond the sporting success, students embraced a wide range of adventurous activities, including the Big Swing, abseiling, trapeze, and outdoor survival skills. These experiences helped build confidence, resilience, and lasting memories for all involved.
A huge thank you goes to Mrs Hillcoat-Hyde for organising such a fantastic and rewarding trip once again!

Gymnastics
Our gmnasts delivered an outstanding performance at the Watford Gymnastics competition this week! In Level 2, Olivia L achieved an excellent second-place finish, in Level 3, Guilia and Paige both excelled, each securing first place!
The competition required each gymnast to perform a floor routine along with two vaults, and all of our athletes rose to the challenge brilliantly. Their hard work truly paid off, as our Level 3 team were awarded as overall winners.
Well done, girls!

Girls Football
U12s
The U12s have had a successful season finishing it with beating RMS 6–0. A disciplined and confident performance saw them control the game from start to finish, keeping a clean sheet while capitalising on their chances in front of goal. They had a total of 4 wins and 1 draw in the district league and getting to the semi finals of the county cup.
U13s
The U13s have had a superb season. They delivered a remarkable series of results, showcasing both attacking flair and solid teamwork. Recently they secured a dominant 11–0 victory against The Grange, followed by another emphatic 10–0 win over Future Academy, and had a strong 7–1 win against Habs. This season has been remarkable for this team as they have completed all district games unbeaten and only conceded 2 goals, which results in them winning the league.
U15s
The U15s produced a fantastic result with an 8–1 victory over Aldenham. Their attacking play was sharp and effective, complemented by a solid defensive display that limited the opposition’s opportunities. They had a very busy start of the season getting to the semi finals of the county cup and securing 2 wins, a draw and only one loss as the season came to an end.

Boys Football
Year 7 Boys Football
We have run 2 teams at Year 7 level this year and both have had a good season. The ‘A’ team managed to get to the 3rd round of the National Cup before losing on penalties to Sandringham. In the County Cup they reached the semi-final and played Aldenham. With a little more belief in themselves in the first half, they could have come away with a win but unfortunately lost 5-3 in the end.
However, they played 6, won 5 and drew 1 in the District league and have come out as CHAMPIONS.
Highlight for me was Micah’s overhead kicks that resulted in a couple of great goals.
Well done to all the boys who turned out for the team.
As for the ‘B’ team, they managed to get the furthest in the National Cup out of all of our teams, reaching the fourth round and again, going out on penalties. They also got to the semi-final of their County Cup, losing to a Goffs team that looked like they were in year 10.
In the District League, they were up against some ‘A’ teams and ‘B’ teams and managed a respectable 4th in the League. They were the top ‘B’ team in the league and I would just like to take this opportunity to say well done to those boys who represented the ‘B’ team as it is never easy following in the footsteps of an ‘A’ team.
Year 9 Boys Football
Our year 9 boys A team have had a phenomenal season in the district, winning all but one of their matches, sitting nicely at the top of the league (we await results from other schools to see if we will be crowned champions!)
Our B squad had the opportunity to play on the new pitch where we were able to field a squad of 22 players, which is a testament to the huge numbers who come to training every week.
A huge thank you to everyone for their commitment this year.
Year 10
The Year 10 boys have made good progression this year. They had good runs in both the National and County cups, which allowed them to test themselves against the best schools in the county and England. It was in the district league that they really shone, with the Year 10 currently topping the league, awaiting some late results from other school. They have worked hard this year, and regardless of the outcome of the district league I am confident that we will have, next year, and are a team that now knows they are more than capable of competing at all levels.

Boys Rugby
We continue to work hard in building the popularity of boys rugby at Queens’.
Our year 7s have had a fantastic season under the leadership of Mr Harold-Egole, experiencing positive results across the district as well as festivals held at Berkhamsted School and Saracens Stone X Stadium. A huge congratulations to the boys for their commitment this year and the success they’ve achieved

Our Year 8s continue to build in squad depth and confidence. Although the results haven’t gone our way this season, there is clear growth in numbers and confidence which is brilliant to see. The season was topped off with a 7s tournament at Habs school, where the boys showed some real progress against some difficult schools. Well done for this season, we continue to grow next year.

Our Year 9s have continued their success from years 7 and 8 and continue to be a talented group. The squad has enormous potential moving into year 10 which we hope to continue to build upon and develop a very positive and successful culture with the year group. Thank you for your commitment and let’s build even stronger next year.
Our Year 10/11 team have had limited fixture this year, however they have been very good ones, with a thrilling draw vs Rickmansworth. Again, the potential of this group is fantastic and something we hope to strengthen next year. Thank you to those who have committed this year and we’re excited to see what we’re capable of next year!

Basketball
Year 9 Boys Basketball
A fantastic win by the Year 9 Boys basketball who were in dominant mood against Beaumont school. Many excellent performances with three pointers, Buzzer beaters, block shots and put backs all culminated in an 87-44 Queens Victory. The boys should be proud of their performance in the final. We hope that next year they will have their sights set on further development.
Omari Lake, Freddie O'Grady, Manny Amoako Assiamah, and Dan Lukaszewicz have all been nominated for Hertfordshire U15 trials and we wish them luck with that opportunity.

Year 11 Boys Basketball
After 5 years of District League wins, County Cup Finals, knockout stages of national competitions, the curtain finally closed on Year 11 Basketball. The only year group to have 2 basketball teams (both in the District Premier League) the boys have surpassed all expectations, with 5 players representing clubs at National League Level. The final match was between both Queens’ Teams, with the final match in a win for ‘Team A’. It simply remains to wish them well for their GCSE exams. Also thank you to Alexandria, Olivia, Neriah, Amie and Maryam for always helping by doing the table!!!!!

Year 7 Boys Basketball
The Boys Year 7 team has had an excellent season. The team has made excellent progression throughout the year winning the District league undefeated and second place in the county rally. The have consistently been training 3 times a week (after school and lunch time) and have shown a tremendous attitude. There have been some notable performances this year particularly from Isaac, who has played National league and county basketball, who scored 26 points in one match. Rupert, Seb, Thomas, Duriel, Julien and Micah have also shown that they can compete against anybody and it is going to be interesting to see what this group can do next year. A great first year!

Senior Girls Basketball
Well done to the senior girls basketball team who were runners up in the county league. They had a tough final against Beaumont and put up the toughest competition that Beaumont had faced all season, but sadly were unable to pull off a win. They did an amazing job and I am super proud of the progress they have made. Special mentions to Neriah who has got a place on the UK top 50 and to Alexandria who has been selected for the Northern Ireland team.

Have a well deserved Easter break!
Mrs Marks
