Hertfordshire University trip Year 11 Criminology Day
Students participated in two hands-on workshops led by experienced lecturers. The first focused on developing key investigative skills, including gathering evidence from a mock crime scene, accurately recording observations, and enhancing communication by sharing findings with peers. Following the crime scene investigation, students took part in a simulated courtroom trial held on campus, where they put their newly acquired skills to the test by presenting and examining the case. Students were engaged and enjoyed the experience.

Unifrog Launch to Year 7
Year 7 students enjoyed exploring the platform and taking part in the skills and personality questionnaire. They’ve gained confidence navigating the site, which they will continue to use and build on all the way through to Year 13.
Celebration of Black History Month
In October, Sixth Form students from the African Caribbean Society led and delivered a series of inspiring assemblies to younger year groups. As part of the “Face the Future” initiative, they also hosted assemblies for Years 12 and 13, featuring a range of guest speakers including a representative from Hertfordshire Police, a self-employed dancer, an entrepreneur who developed a health app for diabetes, and a choreographer who also manages a children's charity. To close the event, one of our talented Sixth Form students—an award-winning beatboxer with national competition titles—gave a show-stopping performance that captivated the entire audience.

WOW (World of Work) Wednesday and Career of the Week
Talks for WOW (world of Work) Wednesday have begun, with Year 10 and Year 11 students recently taking part in an engaging online webinar titled Farm to Fork. Each week, a featured “Career of the Week” is shared on the Careers Google Classroom for students from Year 7 through to Year 13. These spotlights cover a wide range of industries—from watchmaking to careers in E-sports, such as coaching—helping to broaden students’ understanding of the diverse opportunities available to them.
The Round House Assembly
Students enjoyed an insightful session with the Education Director from the Roundhouse, where they explored the wide-ranging opportunities within the creative arts industry. For many, the labour market information shared was eye-opening, revealing surprising facts about career prospects in the field. By linking school subjects to various roles in the industry, the session helped students better understand the diverse pathways available in the creative arts.

What's coming up next term
We have a range of exciting opportunities lined up for various year groups this term. Year 10 and Year 12 students will be attending the Generation Hertsmere Careers Fair, while others will explore careers in golf and sport during a visit to The Grove Hotel. Additional activities include a trip to West Herts College and a special visit for a small group of Drama students to the EastEnders set.
We’re also looking forward to the return of our popular Alumni Careers Fair in December, and Year 7 students will take part in an engaging SKY Studios assembly.
