Art December 2025 Newsletter

Welcome to the Art Newsletter!

It's been a busy half term with Year 11 and Year 13 art students in the final stage of Component 1 for their GCSE and A level courses. Year 11 art students have demonstrated great scholarship and tenacity by successfully completing two 5 hour periods of sustained focus. The standard of the work is very high and it was a pleasure to share lots of positive feedback at the recent parents consultation evening.  We are extremely grateful to Casper, Izzy and Blanca who took the lead at Sixth Form Open Evening to promote our A level Art and Photography courses.  They spoke to prospective students and parents so eloquently about their project work and the course structure.  The work looked fantastic displayed too and we can not wait to see it all up at the end of year exhibition.

Art Club students enjoyed making props for the school show, High School Musical.  Thank you to Mr Ali for leading this.  The production was excellent and we love seeing all the students we teach getting involved both on stage and behind the scenes.  Well done to the Drama team and Ms Critchton, in Music for inspiring students to take part and coaching them through their performances.

I hope you all have a relaxing break and a Happy Christmas.  We look forward to seeing you reenergised in 2026 for a new term of creativity.
